Pantelleria

E' tutto blu, ci piace di più

It all began when Ele visited Pantelleria in 2024 and fell completely under its spell. On her way to the airport at sunset, she suddenly told the taxi driver to turn around—she just couldn’t leave. (Yes, she actually postponed her flight.) A year later, she brought Fede to see what all the fuss was about. Within minutes, he was sold—partly because the island was breathtaking, and partly because he was relieved that, for once, the vacation destination wasn’t a glacier or the top of a mountain. From then on, Pantelleria became one of their places: wild, beautiful, and just unpredictable enough to feel like another home.

How to get there?

Good news — Pantelleria does have an airport! Wohoooo. In the summer, a few direct flights from Rome, Milan, Bergamo, Bologna and Verona make life easy, and we’ll share those details as soon as the schedules are out, likely around February. For those who can’t wait to secure their tickets, your best bet is to fly via Palermo, Catania, or Trapani, where short hops with DAT Airlines will whisk you straight to the island. You may wish to start booking a flight to one of these Sicilian “hubs”, and get your flight  to Pantelleria  from  there at a later stage. There are usually two flights per day to Pantelleria, one mid-morning and one mid-afternoon.

How to get around?

A charming Mehari or practical Panda are the perfect ways to get around, and we’ll happily point you in the right direction to hire one. We also recommend sharing with another couple if it helps with logistics!

While the mood of the week-end is to indeed follow your hearts and choose the corner of the island that speaks to you, our advice - particularly if this is your first time in Pantelleria - is to stay in or around Scauri, so you don’t end up enduring long commutes from the other side. That said, you’ll see the Eastern side of the island is much wilder and - if you ask the bride - more beautiful, so you’ll be fine wherever you end up staying!
